We are a full time Martial Arts school operating in one of Melbourne's best training facilities at Brunswick only 5 minutes from Coburg. Our Dojo conducts over 90 classes each week for all ages and has received many awards for the quality of our programmes. SPECIAL FREE TRIAL OFFER - All new students will receive a free three lesson trial (normally $30) and if you join then a free uniform (normally $55) to get you started. Adults Martial Arts We offer both daytime and evening classes so getting to class is really easy. Striking, Grappling, Pressure Points, Nerve Manipulation, Weapons Training and Knife Defence. A well rounded martial arts training experience.

Junior Adults 11 - 15 yrs old Our Junior Adults programme is very focused on Self Defence based Martial Arts. As you may already be aware both assaults and knife attacks in Melbourne have dramatically increased.

Samurai Warriors 8 - 12yrs old Learn a wide range of skills including ground fighting / wrestling. Our Samurai Warriors classes are both energetic and challenging. Confidence for children can be developed by training in Martial Arts.

Ninja Stars 5 - 8 yrs old Our Ninja Stars 5 - 8 years old classes are full of energy and enthusiasm. Our student's parents regularly tell us that our classes have had a tremendous effect on their child’s overall development as well.

Birthday Parties How would you like to have a birthday party where all you have to do is book your time, hand out your invites, buy a cake and turn up on the day. We do everything else for you including clean up the mess afterwards.

My son has been a member since he was 5 - he's now almost 11 and still loving it. I don't think he'll stop either which is great. As a parent I'm very grateful for my son to have good adult influences outside of school and family and Thornbury Martial Arts provides just that - physical training, self defence skills, fun & games and good adult influences in a safe environment.
I can't recommend it enough, what the sensei's at Thornbury Martial Arts do for kids is phenomenal!

Brilliant school- set up really well for kids (and adults), multiple classes divided by age, very motivating for kids to progress through belts, teachers all great with kids and supportive, additional discussions on discipline and motivation, concurrent fitness / boxing classes for parents on at the same time. I can’t recommend guests highly enough- great for all ages / genders / stages / fitness levels!!!
