Studying at La Trobe or RMIT Bundoora? Martial arts is a great counterweight to long hours at a desk. Many uni students train in our Adults Martial Arts classes, which cover striking, throws, locks, weapons and Knife Defence, or in beginner-friendly BJJ. Daytime classes at 9:30am on Tuesday and Thursday fit around lecture timetables.
Bundoora kids and teens
Families from Bundoora Primary, St Damian’s, Bundoora Secondary College and Parade College train with us after school and on Saturday mornings. Ninja Stars, Samurai Warriors and Junior Adults give each age group its own class, with a clear belt path and no grading fees.
Traditional skills, practical focus
Our martial arts includes karate-style strikes and kicks, traditional weapons such as the staff and wooden sword, and modern self defence. The weapons training builds coordination, timing and focus, while the self defence keeps everything grounded in real-world situations.
Is the drive from Bundoora worth it?
Bundoora families have closer options, so we’re often asked why they make the trip. The answer they give us: a full-time school with classes six days a week, instructors who have taught for decades, small age-grouped classes, free gradings and a real focus on self defence. Several families also combine the trip with Northland shopping or visiting relatives in Preston, which makes the drive feel shorter.

This club/dojo has one of, if not the best children's program. Their curriculum has been meticulously developed to ensure your child cultivates values you would find in a traditional dojo, all the while holding on to the reality of current times.
