Martial Arts for Collingwood
Kids, teens and adults · north from Collingwood

From Smith St to the mats
Collingwood is full of warehouses turned into studios, but a full-time, fully matted martial arts dojo is rare in the inner city. Ours is about six kilometres north: up Hoddle St and Queens Pde, then High St and Dundas St.
Guest’s Martial Arts has taught martial arts since 1997, combining traditional skills such as weapons training with modern, practical self defence.

For Collingwood creatives and office workers
A lot of our Collingwood members work at a screen all day, in design studios, tech start-ups or offices along Johnston St. Martial arts is the opposite: physical, social and completely absorbing. You can’t think about emails while someone is trying to sweep your legs. Many say an evening class is the best way they’ve found to switch off after work.

As a parent I'm very grateful for my son to have good adult influences outside of school and family and Thornbury Martial Arts provides just that - physical training, Self Defence skills, fun & games and good adult influences in a safe environment.

This club/dojo has one of, if not the best children's program. Their curriculum has been meticulously developed to ensure your child cultivates values you would find in a traditional dojo, all the while holding on to the reality of current times.
— Andrew S.
From the very first lesson, Guests martial arts was a winner. Friendly and knowledgeable instructors with many years of experience, and a timetable packed with classes to suit anyone's preferences.
— Steven G.
My 2 youngest children attend twice a week and have a ball, not only do they learn a martial art, but their confidence has gone through the roof, they are doing hand stands, cart wheels and rolling confidently.
