Self Defence for Teens
Our Teenage Self Defence Classes has two seperate training age groups Young Adults 15-17 and Junior Adults 11-15.
In the Teens Self Defence Classes, the primary focus is on moving in a way that makes it significantly harder for you to get hit, while creating opportunities to escape. If escape isn’t possible, the focus shifts to strikes, locks and restraint techniques depending on what is needed.
Knife defence is also covered in these classes because, unfortunately—and this might surprise you—many high school students carry knives. These age groups are very high risk for this type of violence. Hard to believe but check out these statistics from the ABS for Melbourne. Extract ...victims of robbery 2023:
Because all of our students are from the Melbourne Northern Suburbs area they get to know other local teens and form lasting friendships, these extended friendship networks also go along way to keeping them safe as well. If there are problems at school and you would like to let us know we are more than happy to have chats with your Teen and offer advice as well. We have done this for many students over the years.

Love this place! My son has been going since he was 5. He's now 14, got his junior black belt, and is now training for his adult black belt. Fantastic teachers who set a great example of determination, patience, tolerance and endurance, and an incredibly supportive and welcoming atmosphere.
As a parent I do the kickboxing classes while my son does his martial arts class, and I'm really enjoying it
Self Defence For Kids
We also offer Self Defence Classes for children with all the techniques are adjusted to make it age appropriate. The focus for our primary school aged students is body control and gross motor skill development while learning effective but less aggressive self defence techniques.
Another way we work with Kids is to build them from the inside out and the outside in by instilling confidence and exercising their bodies. Confidence goes along way towards repelling bullies, bullies look for soft targets and that's not us.

This club/dojo has one of, if not the best children's program. Their curriculum has been meticulously developed to ensure your child cultivates values you would find in a traditional dojo, all the while holding on to the reality of current times.
